The Parthenon frieze can now be digitally observed, piece by piece. A new website, (www.parthenonfrieze.gr) created by the Tourism and Culture Ministry and the National Documentation Center, has helped turn the archeological treasure into a pleasant online game, where guests can construct and deconstruct, paint, clean the frieze and observe it through its different decorative motifs. Through images and text - in both Greek and English – visitors have the opportunity to observe the temple's architecture and decoration in detail and obtain information on the monument's conservation, as well as on events which were closely linked to the temple's culture. “Panathenea,” is one of the featured events, representing the most important festival for Athens and one of the grandest in the entire ancient Greek world.
