Professor Dimitris Pandermalis, President of the Acropolis Museum delivered the Irish Museums Association Annual James White Lecture: "Collections present and absent at the new Acropolis Museum on November 18 at the National Museum of Ireland. Every year, the Irish Museums Association invites a key figure from the international museums community to deliver the annual November lecture. In his speech, Pandermalis highlighted that the Museum offers "a realistic idea" of what classicism is really about. "Many have a confused idea of classical art and culture." "A close look at the artworks on display reveals the original classical view of humanity." |
