Greek mythology goes to Hollywood Print E-mail
Saturday, 13 February 2010

Actor Pierce Brosnan and director Chris Columbus together with other members of the cast starring in "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief" were in Athens this weekend, for the official premiere of their new film, which opens on the big screen on February 12.

The story is about a young boy who is told that he is a demigod –son of Poseidon- and embarks on a "heroic" adventure, where the 21st century meets the classic tales and messages of Greek mythology.

During the press conference, Columbus described his visit to the Acropolis "a moving experience" and all participants in the movie agreed that they enjoyed their brief visit to Greece.

The director actually did not exclude the possibility of filming the sequel in Greece.
